Case Study
Melon-Inn Hotel and Spa Branding
Melon-inn is a boutique hotel and spa concept inspired by the quiet luxury of New Mexico: warm desert light, adobe architecture, slow hospitality, and restorative wellness. My goal was to create a brand that felt elevated but still personal — not like a generic luxury hotel, but like a place with a real atmosphere, a point of view, and a sense of care.
The final logo combines three symbolic elements: an arch for welcome and architecture; a melon-inspired globe form for the name and a sense of rest, restoration, and unity; and a globe for belonging. and a small star/sun motif for warmth, guidance, and New Mexico light. I refined the mark into a clean, gold monoline system on a deep green background, supported by elegant typography, generous spacing, and a warm, hospitality-focused tone. The design direction is more about building a consistent brand language.
What I like about this project is that the brand feels complete and lived-in. It is not just a logo; it becomes an atmosphere.
I also created a flexible illustration, logo animation, and application system. The illustrations use thin gold linework, geometric arches, desert plants, spa objects, adobe forms, and sun/star motifs to add storytelling without overwhelming the brand. The physical touchpoints were designed to feel cohesive but not repetitive. Each piece supports the same emotional promise: Rest. Restore. Belong.

From there, I expanded Melon-inn into a complete guest experience. For the mobile website, I designed a high-fidelity Figma prototype with a mobile-first structure for booking, rooms and suites, spa and wellness, local experiences, and contact information. Hi-Fi Figma Prototype (LINK)
Information architecture of the website...
...and the social media campaign...
Rest, Restore, and Belong... that promise became important because the identity needed to work across many touchpoints — room cards, spa products, menus, signage, and hotel merchandise — to create a cohesive design system.
